Dog got skunked. It wasn't clear that she got hit or whether it was just a hell of a stench in the air, no obvious liquid on her coat. The house was immediately full of the scent. After dumping her in a bathroom with the exhaust fan on for 20 minutes, the bathroom was still horrible, so she got a peroxide and baking soda bath.

Always good to have a clean, yet still stinky dog!

Not stinky, at least, I didn't smell anything when she was lying beside me in bed last night. There may be a bit lingering and I didn't notice because of the general smell in the house. Peroxide and baking soda really work well.

IIRC, best bet for stink removal is vinegar and soda.

The peroxide and baking soda recipe was developed in the last 10 or 15 years by scientists who were working with the active ingredient in skunk spray, so that they could go home after work. It works 100%, no residual smell at all. It's been pretty universally praised by anyone who's tried it as the best method, and it's worked for us twice now.
