I just ordered actual legal copies of Windows 7 for all three computers in the house. For no particular reason either than feeling like I should get legal. Well, one machine is already legal (XP) and the other quasi (legal on Vista, but running 7). Mine is running a semi-kinda-legal XP, but since I've had two machines that shipped with XP die on me and go to trash, I didn't feel too bad about it.

It does mean moving two of the machines from XP but that's OK. 7 is really pretty nice, I just don't like a couple of GUI features of it. It's about time I forced myself to get used to it though.

In preparation for a fresh clean install, I set ClimatePrediction to finish up the work units it has now and not grab any more but I doubt it'll finish. These days I only leave my machine on when I'm using it so no more than 4 hours a day, more like 1 to 2 most days, and it has work units with 150 hours left to go.

I just bought a copy too - but I was under the impression that there was no real way fo running illegal copies - or has someone found a workaround?

Nah, my quasi-legal copies were via MSDN, which technically are supposed to be only for testing. The keys last a year, and mine are starting to run out. They have a family 3 PC license for $125, so I went for that since we have 3 PCs.
