Sore throat
Dec. 31st, 2010 10:21 amNo Ishercon for me. I've had a sore throat since Sunday, it's not getting either better or worse. Since I don't know what it is, I'm going to stay away from the party.
I'm pretty bummed, because I've been invited for several years now and this was to be my first time to go. And I had a number of things that I was looking forward to talking to several people about.
Next year, I hope. Have fun without me!

Date: 2010-12-31 04:34 pm (UTC)Mike and Tullio had a barely functioning setup last year that was still pretty fun. This year more capable equipment is planned.
I've been sorry to miss gong there in person these last couple of years, but seeing and talking with folks live made a big difference to me.

Date: 2010-12-31 04:52 pm (UTC)I think I'll just wait until Capricon. Doesn't seem to me like standing in the corner just watching, or talking to everyone, would be that much fun anyway. I would rather talk to people one-on-one.

Date: 2011-01-01 11:39 pm (UTC)1st-sorry you're not feeling well! 2nd--sorry to miss you--I was looking forward to talking to you. Although Amy brought me home this noon because I seem to have some sort of stomach bug, ugh.

Date: 2011-01-02 03:41 pm (UTC)Of course, it's probably not that thrilling to call and watch me knitting or sewing by hand or petting the cat... so it's not a big deal. ;-)
The group at the party did seem to have fun Skyping with Jeff Duntemann last night. I think Jeff eventually got all of his dogs onto his lap. I didn't pay attention to the conversation, but there was a lot of jockeying for position... just like in any GT suite.
