my computer is dead this morning. Typing from the netbook.
power supply cycling on/off at first. after powerdown for a few minutes, now it comes up and beeps about 22 times, resets, repeats.

I wonder if this is one of those Intel chipset issues.

If it costs anything at all to repair, I'll probably just grab the old machine out of the basement and be back on XP, which won't be all bad.

EDIT: I took it to the garage and blew all the dust out of it, and it's running again. I do not like this. It really wasn't that dusty, and dust alone should not stop a machine that's starting cold from being able to even POST. Maybe something is loose. There's a possibility that it was some bit of conductive dust wedged in a bad place that I dislodged, I used the compressor at 80 PSI and blew dust out of inside of the power supply and everywhere I could reach.
