Blood pressure and exercise

As odd as it sounds, exercise has an IMMEDIATE effect on my blood pressure. Last time I rode before today was last Wednesday. Between then and last night, my BP rose 2 or 3 points a day on a pretty much steady climb, winding up at 135/89 last night (with meds). Today a few hours after getting home I was at 128/77. Next time I ride will be Wednesday (I'm doing 3x per week until I can take these FSM-forsaken studded tires off), by tomorrow night I'll be up to around 84 diastolic. It's that predictable.
My resting pulse rate is not what I'd like, but it never has been. It actually increases with lower blood pressure. Last night it was 61 which is by far the lowest I've seen it for years, I don't know why. Today it's 93 again, which isn't that unusual, though about 80 is typical, even when I was riding daily for several years in a row.
