Studded tires taken off the bike (perhaps a bit optimistic, but last year I took them off on March 7 and got away with it). Very little riding this winter, only 273 miles put on these tires this winter.

Got the power washer and a hose out and washed it for the first time in a few months, but since it'll still freeze, I had to blow the water back out of the washer.

Then I figured out why the tool kit has tried to fall out of the bottle cage a few times lately; broken weld. I replaced it with a spare cage I had sitting around, though it's a cheap piece of junk, it'll last a while.

I'm hoping to get a group together tomorrow for a 25-30 mile-ish ride. Weather looks decent, so as long as the pavement is relatively clear (there was some bad drifting on some of the paths) it should be nice.

I'm not a huge fan of off-road riding, personally. Too slow, and if I'm off road I prefer to walk. Have fun though!

Thanks. :) This will be a mishmash of safety paths, residental streets, tiny connector paths between neighborhoods, and some rail trail. It's just too sloppy out there right now to properly ride trails. Most of them have 2-4" of peanut buttery mud sitting on top of frozen ground, and riding this stuff will both trash the trails and sink one's bike to the derailleur.

Oh, and I've taken to buying stainless steel cages. They cost more, but the US-made ones (King Cage) seem to be super-well made and I've yet to hear of one breaking / failing like aluminum ones do. I've had one Al one fail on me personally, and been riding with multiple folks' when theirs unexpectedly went simply while riding rough things.

Thanks. I'll have to order one of those then. The one I put on today won't last long, it's a piece of junk with a plastic mount that came free with a polar bottle I bought a few years ago.
