Connection trouble after power failure

Note to self: after power failure, cable company's upstream equipment gets weird. Must unplug everything for a while, then plug in from the modem back in order. This time around actually had to plug a machine directly into the cable modem to get things going. Luckily that's now really easy since putting in the cable management I did a while back, and having a computer in the basement means no running 60 feet and a flight of stairs to check the modem lights.
