OpenSCAD = win
Sep. 9th, 2011 03:31 pmThat tent pole piece that I created in Google SketchUp and printed last weekend? I spent 5 hours in SketchUp creating that.
I just learned a bit of OpenSCAD from scratch and modeled the piece with about 30 lines of code during lunch, and it's actually a better piece (I got the tapers on this one)
The dimensions aren't right since I'm just doing this at work as an experiment, but it shows that for people of my mindset, using a programming language rather than a GUI to draw things (at least, things like this that are highly regular shapes) is the way to go.
