Book finished
Feb. 15th, 2012 10:51 pmThe Children of the Sky by Vernor Vinge
Interesting world, good story, open-ended.
EDIT: this was not a great book. It is not anywhere near in the same category as Fire or Deepness. It's just sort of a side story that happened in the same universe, after both of the other books, but it's nowhere near the gripper that the other ones were, so don't read this expecting to be as entertained.
Reading is going super slow, little time to read this time of year, so much to do. Even snatching 10 minutes to read before bed seems like stealing time I don't have. It took me 6 weeks to get through this one, about 100 pages a week.

Date: 2012-02-17 02:09 am (UTC)I knew in advance that the book would be quite different from A Fire Upon the Deep, but even so I was quite disappointed.

Date: 2012-02-25 05:37 pm (UTC)I was probably too easy on it. I'm quite busy these days and it's normal for me to not get into even good books because I'm so distracted, so I might give books a better review than they may actually deserve because I lay the blame on myself for not being able to focus on them.
