A Walk in the Woods: Rediscovering America on the Appalachian Trail by Bill Bryson

I found this book absolutely delightful. This was a Science Friday book club pick.

Oh, that book pissed me off. He said NEARLY NOTHING about his gear.

I don't know how to respond as I think you may be being sarcastic and I'm not getting it. I can't imagine why he would talk about gear in a book like that.

Compare it to Colin Fletcher's The Complete Walker, or his The Man who Walked Through Time.

Fletcher spends a great deal of time discussing how, as well as why, one would take such a walk. Bryson's book sits next to Fletchers's on my shelf.
