Check this out. Hummingbird moth. Sighted in the east garden, viewed by all, only a mediocre somewhat out of focus phone pic saved.

We get a similar critter in our yard from time to time as well. They like the Mexican Petunias.

This one was checking out every one of the larkspur blossoms it could find. (some of that, I'm sure, is that right now the larkspur is the only thing in bloom on that side of the garden -- there's some mallow and blanket flower on the other side of the peony plants, but that's getting into bee and butterfly territory.)
