Like I needed something to do.
Got ready to go to church this morning. I need to take the van since J will need the car for 2nd service, and the blue car is at the shop. Took one step out the door, saw that the van was covered in about a half inch of ice.

I took the bike instead. It takes 5 minutes instead of 4 to bike instead of drive, and I had a good 10 minutes of ice clearing to do to take the van.

I got 3/4 of the way there and my rear tire went flat. Not only went flat, but popped off the rim on one side and the inner tube wrapped around the axle and brakes. It really looks like the bead slipped off the rim, but I didn't hear a blowout. So I gotta get that fixed for tomorrow.

Glad I didn't drive though. DAMN was it slippery. The road had solid ice on it. The studded tires handled it (barely) but the one car I saw on the road was going no faster than I was, and he was doing his share of sliding around.

Weird. A stone managed to get wedged into one of the holes vacated by a stud that had fallen out of the tire, and it wiggled until it had breached into the tire.
I was going to go buy a tire liner, but the shop is closed today. However, I have a wrecked tire here, the one I just took off. I'm getting my aviation snips from the toolbox, sitting down with the tire, and making my own liner. The tire will be good and heavy after that, but it's heavy as hell anyway.

I assume "the one I just took off" means the Bontranger, not the studded. Otherwise, this make my head hurt.
