Off the bike for a while
Dec. 12th, 2007 08:25 amIt's taking up to 50 minutes (instead of the summertime 38 minutes) to get to work and back, and I'm falling seriously behind in doing stuff at home, and could stand some more time at work too.
I really should pick up some exercise elsewhere to make up for the loss, but for a few weeks at least I think I'll just try to utilize the time instead. Lord knows I have enough to do at home that it feels like I could take a month off and work 16 hour days 7 days a week and still not be caught up. Perhaps after the first of the year I'll get back on the bike one or two days a week, that'd still be 20-40% reduction in car miles for commuting.
Hopefully I can get the bathroom where I change cleaned up too. After a couple of years of containing sweaty biking clothes, it really has a life of its own. Yuck. I think what I really need there is to buy enough clothes that I have a full week's clothes, so I can put everything sweaty immediately into the sealed tub I use as a hamper, rather than trying to dry and rewear things the next day. The sweatiest things go in there, but even some of the outer layers can get bad. I think my rain shell is the worst thing in there right now.
