I've been watching FB Marketplace, Craigslist and eBay for nearby metal lathes. A couple of great deals have come up but I didn't jump on them fast enough. One I thought was going to be a sure thing turned out to be missing the tailstock, and Sheldon parts are rare so I had to pass. Right now it's looking like it'll probably be a somewhat crusty South Bend from a guy who lives right in town. The price is not bad at all, though of course my deal hound friend from Robotics got one way nicer for $250, but he was looking through large lots of tools and picking things out.
