Well, busy for me.
Today was my first day past the deferral for single needle platelet donations, so I went in at 8 and had a very successful donation (defined as, easy poke, no pressure warnings, no alarms, reasonably fast (about 130 minutes).
My new (/old) motorcycle had an exhaust system that the previous guy kind of mangled - the bit underneath was kind of beat up, and he didn't really remove the old rusted out mufflers, he just sawed them off and got some bigger pipes that he sort of wedged on over the top of the stubs and just clamped in place. It looked kind of OK but it had horrible leaks.
I decided to just buy a new exhaust system to replace the whole thing, but when it came in it was very loud. I guess all that ANY aftermarket manufacturer makes for exhaust systems is LOUD LOUD LOUD. Which I absolutely do not want. So I took it off after maybe 2 minutes of running. The manufacturer would not take it back because now it was "used"
So I put it up on a forum specific to that bike and it sold in less than 24 hours. I took a $75 loss on it, just to make it go away. The guy got a good deal, it really is a pretty and well made set of pipes, just loud which is what some people want.
I also got an order for one of the phono lathe spindles I sell on eBay and stopped by the metals outlet. I have been making them out of drops but that involves a lot of waste, so I finally gave up and bought a 3 foot piece of brass rod, so I'm set for the next 30 or so of these things (several years unless one of the rebuilders places another big order).
Then this evening the CPA finished up our taxes, so that's done. Since our income is coming almost all from investments now, we're also now in the "paying quarterly estimates" demographic.
