johnridley: (Calvin vs Bike)
...for now. This summer I learned that my bike computer's temperature readout shows 00, 01, etc when it's 100, 101, etc degrees. Only a 2 digit display.

This morning I discovered that it displays -1, -2 just fine. I wasn't sure what it would do. I suspect that when it gets to double digit negative, it'll drop the hyphen, but I didn't witness that this morning. By the time it gets that cold, I guess there's no doubt whether it means -10 or 10.

The display does become ridiculously sluggish though. Even in bright light, even non-changing digits are very hard to read, it's hard to tell it's even on. Oh well, LCD isn't totally perfect.

I also discovered that even with a hand-made vapor block in place, it still bugs me to breathe through the heat exchanger. Seems like I'm short of breath all the time, even though it's not impeding airflow that I can tell. Must be rebreathing some CO2 or something. At least my glasses don't fog as much anymore.
