Just in time!
Feb. 4th, 2007 06:32 pmLooks like I got new pedals for my bike just in time! The new ones allow me to ride in my heavy winter boots. The forecast for tomorrow morning is -4*F. Usually the actual temp when I get out into the barren stretches in the farm fields is about 10*F below the forecast. Wind chill is forecast at -25*F. The ride back home is supposed to be at a balmy 7*F, but it'll be directly into a 20 MPH headwind. This promises to be interesting. At least I did also locate my full wrap prescription goggles this afternoon.
We just watched a PBS show called Christmas in Yellowstone. There was a photographer in it that spends some time each winter skiing around Yellowstone taking photos; the temps when they shot this segment were running -20 to -40*F. Actually it looked wonderful. I have never been to Yellowstone, but from what I've read, it's essentially an RV parking lot most of the summer.
