I've been giving platelets every week for several weeks now. I am not giving whole blood because my left arm is useless so they have to do single needle, and with that if I give whole blood then they can't do platelets for 6 weeks. Platelet donors are a lot more rare so that's how I'm choosing to serve.
Turns out they can do plasma at the same time, every 4th donation, so that's cool.
I bring along a tablet and an ereader, and catch up on my media, because I'm on the couch for about 2.5 hours every time.
In other news, I have been visiting and photographing locations that have Michigan historical markers, and I have made contact with the (one) person at Michigan that maintains the database. I let her know about a building and marker that had been moved and also another one that is way way off in the database (7 miles away, has definitely NOT been moved). She's happy to have some field data though I need to get her an official contact to verify the moved one.
In all the hobby of photographing these is fun, it gives me an excuse to get out and go down some weird back roads that I have never seen before. Also to be amused about the names of some of the roads, like when I went to photograph the catholic church, that it was located on Catholic Church Road.
