I went to the 46th Ishercon Dec 30-Jan 1. It was nice to see people, especially Barry and Jo were there. I went for a wander on Saturday and picked up about 15 or so historical markers. On Sunday, Matthew, Moshe, Fred and I went to the Air Zoo. I went on this occasion a few years ago but at the time did not know about the annex. We went this year and it was very cool. I'll have to visit the Air Zoo some other time when I have all day to just listen to the docents talk. They were fascinating but we were on a time constraint.
I wrapped up my Goodreads challenge at 187 books, 58,000 pages. I didn't expect to get anywhere near that though I did expect to easily hit the 100 book goal I set. For 2024 I set it at 120. My concern is always that I'm cherry picking, I have almost 200 books in my "want to read" list but some of them may not be page-turners. I've been pulling books from that list along with the binging that I do when I discover a new writer that I can't put down. Right now I'm about halfway through Seanan McGuire's stuff. I'd read her Mira Grant stuff a few years ago. I also drop in some history, biography and non-fiction along with the fantasy and SF that I normally read. I've also been enjoying some Agatha Christie, and of course with only about 8 of her books read that's a big list remaining.
I'm in the choir Out Loud, we have a concert coming up in 2 weeks and things are rolling there. Extra rehearsals crammed in and I have volunteered to be the large vehicle provider to move the risers tomorrow.
